In this four-year position (2017-2021) funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, I had a joint appointment between the University of Miami Libraries and the Lowe Art Museum. The Mellon CREATE Grants Program was one of my primary responsibilities to encourage faculty and students to feature cultural resources for teaching, learning, and scholarship from UM Libraries, Special Collections, the Cuban Heritage Collection, University Archives, and the Lowe Art Museum.
I worked with graphic designer Chris Rogers of Yazi (Coral Gables, FL) to develop this brochure, which highlights projects from the pilot phase of CREATE in order to inspire financial support to continue the program.
Working on this project was one of the greatest experiences of my career. Faculty from many different disciplines received grants, and I had the great joy of meeting with them to discuss their initial ideas and guiding them along the way until their projects came to completion.
